The North West Coast of Ireland is famous for the many species of Fish that can be caught,
even in one day.
Fishing out of Downings means the choice of shallow reefs for light tackle spinning for Pollock,
deep water bottom bouncing for numerous species, sandy bottoms for “flatties”, 109 Wrecks
for Pollock, Ling and Conger. Some of these Wrecks are “virgins” that haven’t been fished on at
all.
Deep water reefs for Conger Eels, rocky bottom for massive Common Skate etc.

Cod, Whiting, Ling, Haddock, Coalfish, Pollock, Poor Cod, Grey Gurnard (1.93lb),
Red Gurnard (2.25lb), Tub Gurnard (7lb), Plaice, Turbot, Brill, Dab, Flounder, Megrim,
Thornback Ray, Undulate Ray, Blonde Ray, Cuckoo Ray, Ballan Wrasse, Cuckoo
Wrasse, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Tope (44lb), Blue Shark (127lb), Blue Fin Tuna (206Kg),
Conger, Gar Fish, Pouting, Common Skate (198lb), Amoco Jack, John Dory,
Where else can you go and catch up to TWENTY species in two days on a specie hunt!!??
